Just a quick note to say thank you and well done to all of 3rd class on their projects. I was really impressed at the standard of work and the confidence that the children had presenting their work. Here a few pictures from the last few days.

Irish-Duolingo

To help increase the interest and motivation when it comes to learning Irish I have set up a Duolingo account for everyone.

To log in please go to www.duolingo.com.
Each child has a username and password on the inside cover of their Irish copy.

I have assigned an assignment for each child on this that can be completed between now and next Friday(28th).

Thanks,

Denise

Project- Habitats

As part of homework this week and early next week the class will be doing habitat projects. The project is due on the 26th of October. I will not be giving a grammar worksheet this week or next week so that the children have time to work on their project instead.

What must you do
Pick a habitat and give a brief a description of it.
Pick an animal that lives in that habitat.
Gather information about the Habitat and how the animals adapts/lives in this habitat.
·         What are the main characteristics of the habitat? (Climate, Location etc)
·         Why is it suitable for the animal?
·         What does it look like?
·         What food does the animal get there?

They may present the project in whatever way they wish. (Factfile, drawing, Powerpoint etc.)
I don’t expect pages and pages of work. 1-2 pages is plenty. The aim of this is that they will learn about a habitat themselves and also learn from their peers by listening to the presentations on habitats.

Here are some links to help with the research.

If anyone wants to email their project my email is belmayneetdenise@gmail.com. I won' be able to put USB devices into the school computer.

Thanks,

Denise
